Our Certificate is one of the most prestigious and highly
recognised throughout the world and we do reserve the right to deny Applications
for a Certificate if you do not achieve the required standards.
To work as a Professional Photographer, the only “Accreditation” you will ever need is a very strong
portfolio of images and this is what we, at LSP, will help you to build. Our Courses and Workshops emphasise the
importance of practice and if you are really passionate about photography, keep up the good work, and build confidence,
in a very short time you will have what it takes to break in the business of photography.

4) I
am a complete beginner; which workshop shall I attend? The Digital Photography
Workshops Levels 1 and 2 (or 4 Days Digital Photography).
By attending both,
Digital Photography Workshops Level 1 and Level 2, you will gain a full understanding of the Fundamental Principles
of Photography "FOCUS, EXPOSURE and COMPOSITION".
On Level 1 you will get to know your camera, your lenses, you will
learn how to use it in fully Manual Exposure Mode and be confident with all menus and settings that are important to
capture better images.
On Level 2 you will develop your eyes learning about Elements of Design, Composition, White Balance, Theme Photography and Photographing People & Places.
You can complete the Digital Photography Workshops Level 1 and 2 in the following
ways: 4 Days: Monday to Friday (Wednesday off), 10:30am
to 4:30 pm 8 Evenings: Level 1 and Level 2: Monday to Friday
(Wednesdays off), 6:30pm to 9:00pm 2 Weekends: Level 1 and Level 2: Saturday and Sunday, 10:30am
to 4:30 pm Workshops Syllabus Dates and Prices
5) I
am a keen amateur and have been taking pictures for many years, which course shall I attend? We recommend starting with Digital Photography Level 1 for most students, even if you think you know your camera very
well. On this workshop you will learn to use the MANUAL Settings on your camera and really understand all
the shortcut buttons and functions properly. If you have been taking
pictures for a long time, but still use AUTO mode,
P mode or SCENE modes, The Digital Photography Level 1 will be very good for you. Even if you
have some knowledge, but are still unsure or need confirmation, well, you will be amazed on how much more there is to
learn on what we think we know.
6) I think I am a good photographer; can I
book on Digital Photography Level 2 without having done Level 1 before? Yes, if you can use you camera
in fully Manual mode and have a complete understanding of Lenses, Image Size and Quality, Advanced Exposure, Bracketing, Depth of Field, Motion Blur, Priority Modes and Focus you can come
straight to Level 2. Most people who come for Level 2 have done Level 1 before, and
we’ll expect you to be fluent with the Level 1 Syllabus
7) What camera do I need to have? You must have a Digital SLR Camera (DSLR) or a Pro-Compact
camera with FULLY MANUAL EXPOSURE MODE "being able to control ISO, Shutter Speeds and Apertures manually".
Examples:
DSLR cameras: Canon:
600D, 1100D, 60D, 5D Mark II, 7D, 1D. Nikon: D7000, D3100, D5100, D90, D300S, D3. Sony: a900, a77, a55, a35. Olympus: E-5 Pentax K-5 and Kr
Leica DSLR and Pro-Compact Cameras: M8, M9, V-Lux and D-Lux
Pro-Compact Cameras: Canon
Powershot G12, G11 Nikon: 1V1 and 1J1 Panasonic DMC
cameras (With MANUAL EXPOSURE MODE) Olympus PEN cameras
8) I have just got my camera and know nothing about it; can I still enrol on your workshops? Yes, some of our students bring the camera still in the box. It is great to learn the right way from
scratch, so don’t worry about knowing nothing before
the course. You will only need to charge the battery and also bring a memory card.
9) I don’t have a camera yet. Can I still
do the course? Ideally
you would learn with your own camera, because different models vary a lot. When
buying a camera you have to think about
the size, weight, design, etc… We have
DSLR cameras which you can use during your course. Please confirm
availability before booking the course calling us on +44 (0)
207 659 2085. You will be able to use the camera free of charge during the workshop hours at our studio. If
you would like to take the camera home for the assignments during your course, a refundable deposit of £500
plus £50 a day fee will be charged in advance.
10) Which camera do you recommend buying? We recommend the following cameras kits on an entry level: CANON 600D body + 18-200mm lens (Canon or Sigma) or Standard 18 to 55mm lens. NIKON D5100 body + 18-200mm
lens (Nikon or Sigma) or Standard 18
to 55mm lens.
The cameras and lenses above meet all the requirements for great pictures, they are light and we
chose an “all in one” zoom
lens that is great for General Photography. It’s a light kit, ideal for travel. Let
us know if you intend to pursue a career in photography and we will be able to recommend the right equipment for the field you choose.
11) What do I need to bring for the workshop? 1) Your camera, lens, fully charged battery, clean memory card, pen and paper. 2) Wear comfortable
clothing and shoes as we walk a lot to locations. 3)
Check the weather and be prepared for cold, rain, snow, and hopefully, a lot of sunshine. 4)
Travel light, we often finish or start classes on locations, but if you have any heavy luggage it can be arranged with your trainer to leave it at our studio
before/after the classes.
12) Do we have a break during the course? Our weekday and weekends workshops run from 10:30am to 4:30pm,
with 10 minutes coffee/tea break and 1 hour lunch break. Our evening workshops
run from 6:30pm to 9:00pm with 10
minutes coffee/tea break. (Water - Coffee - Tea and Biscuits
in our Studios are free).
13) Do you offer accommodation? No, but we can recommend a hotel with very easy access to our
school: Dean Street Townhouse: www.deanstreettownhouse.com
Using our
favourite hotel booking website, search in these areas (with easy access by train or bus) Soho, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Fitzrovia, Piccadilly, Mayfair, Bond Street, Marble
Arch, Holborn, Queensway, Bayswater, Kensington, Notting Hill, Russell Square, Euston Square, Camden.

14) If I cannot make it on my workshop dates, can I book another date or get a refund? Bookings can only be rescheduled with 14 days (2 Weeks)
notice and must be taken within three months of the original booking. If you decide to withdraw from a workshop, you must inform
us at least 14 days (2 Weeks) before the first day of
class; we will refund your fees, less a £95 withdrawal fee for Weekend and Evening Workshops and £195 for
Monday to Friday daily Courses.
Our obligations to the professionals
who teach at the Centre dictate that no refund of payments will be made to you if you do not notify us of your withdrawal 14 days (2 Weeks) before the start of the workshop. No
refund of fees will be made for no-shows, for withdrawal after the workshop begins or for booking on to the wrong level.
Gift Vouchers are not refundable and must be used within 3
months of their issue date. Gift Vouchers can only
be extended 1 extra month with 15 days (2 Weeks) notice from the expiry date. All participants will be refunded IN FULL or be offered an
alternative date or delivery method if a course or workshop is cancelled by us or if it doesn't reach
a minimum number of participants.
